简历是求职者给招聘经理留下好印象的第一关。一个单词拼写错误可能不是什么大问题，但它可以让一份看起来很有竞争力的简历变得马马虎虎。2014年，猎头公司Accountemps对300名高级经理进行了一项调查，结果发现63%的招聘者会将简历中有1-2个错别字的候选人拒之门外。

求职专家们总结了英文简历翻译中最常出现的8个“错别字”，如果你正在准备英文简历，一定要注意避免出现这些“致命错误”：

‘Manager’vs.‘manger’

将“manager(经理)”粗心敲成“manger(食槽)”，这个错误拼写检查是检测不出来的。

当然，如果你的工作经验包括在马厩打工，那么“manger”这个单词完全可以出现在简历上。

‘Definitely’

Waytoomanypeopleflubthespell ingof“definitely”ontheirrésumés,incorrectlyspellingit“definately,”RedicktoldBusinessInsider.

德雷迪克对商业内幕网表示，很多人的简历都将“definitely(明确地，肯定地)”的拼写搞错了，拼成“definately”。

‘Implement’

Forsomereason,alotofLeavy-Detrick’sclientshavetroublegettingtheiri’sande’sstraight,shetoldBusinessInsider.“Implement”istheproperspelling,not“impliment.”

利维-德特里克表示，不知什么原因，她的不少客户都搞不清楚i和e。“Implement(实施，执行)”才是正确的写法，而不是“impliment”。

‘Judgment’

Anothercommonmistakerésume-writersmakeisaddinganextraetojudgment,spellingit“judgement,”Redicksaid.

德雷迪克表示，应聘者常犯的另一个错误是给“judgment”多加个“e”，拼成“judgement”。

Whilethespellingtechnicallyisn’tincorrect,the“judgement”isalmostexclusivelyusedinBritishEnglish.

虽然严格来讲，这并不算拼写错误，但只有在英式英语中才会使用“judgement”。

‘Identify’vs.‘identity’

Leavy-Detricksaysshecatchessomejob-hunterssaying“ide ntity”ontheirrésuméswhentheymean“identify.”

利维-德特里克称，她发现一些求职者在简历中将“identify(理解，认同)”写成“identity(身份，一致)”。

‘Affect’vs.‘effect’

Howtodistinguish“affect”from“effect”canbedifficultevenforhighlyeducatedEnglishspeakers,andtheusageerrorpopsuptimeandtimeagainonrésumés,Leavy-DetricktoldBusinessInsider.

利维-德特里克告诉商业内幕网，即便对英语为母语且受过良好教育的人来说，也很难区别“affect”和“effect”这两个单词。经常有简历将两个单词用错。

Simplyput,“affect”isalmostalwaysusedasaverb,asin,“Theweatheraffectedmyplans.”Meanwhile,“effect”isgenerallyusedasanoun,asin,“Thedietpillsdidnothaveaneffect.”

简单来说，“affect”几乎总是做动词使用，比如：“Theweatheraffectedmyplans.(天气影响了我的计划。)”而“effect”则通常做名词使用，比如，“Thedietpillsdidnothaveaneffect.(这些减肥药没有效果。)”

‘Ensure’vs.‘insure’

利维-德特里克称，人们区分不清的另一对单词是“ensure”和“insure”。

To“ensure”somethingistomakesurethatsomethingisthecase.

To“ensure”something意思是确定事情是这样的。

To“insure”istoprovideorobtaininsurance.

To“insure”指的是提供或获得保障。

‘Complement’vs.‘compliment’

Here’sanothercaseofhomophonesdoingusin.“Complement”and“compliment”arepronouncedidentically,butmeantotallydifferentthings.

“Complement”和“compliment”也是我们经常弄混的一对同音异义词，这两个单词的发音一样，但是意思却完全不同。

“Complement,”whenusedasaverb,”meanstocompleteorenhancesomethingbyaddingsomethingelse.A“compliment,”ontheotherhand,isaniceremark.

“Complement”做动词时表示完成某事或加以补充使某事更好。而“compliment”则是表示赞美的辞藻。
